I am pleased to announce that we have partnered with a new charity just in time for breast cancer awareness month. The Pretty in Pink Foundation was founded by a Raleigh based surgical oncologist. She noticed that many of her patients were not seeking post-operative treatment plans due to their inability to pay for the chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
The mission of the Pretty in Pink Foundation is to provide financial support for uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients located here in North Carolina. Their grants cover surgical procedures as well as chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Women who qualify for these grants are typically hourly or self-employed and have some health insurance.
The North Carolina Division of Health states women in North Carolina have a 1 and 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer. The Pretty in Pink Foundation estimates that 2,300 women will qualify for their program this year out of the estimated 6,000+ new cases that will be diagnosed this year.
To learn more about their mission or to share this information with someone you know that may qualify for help, please visit the Pretty in Pink Foundation website or call them at 919-532-0532. Shop the Flamingos for a Cure collection to support this great cause.
